Happy Thanksgiving

Hey everyone, I hope you all are having a good week so far. I also hope that you all got out last week and checked out some of the wonderful events. If not that’s okay, there are plenty of new and wonderful events going on this week. From story time for the little ones, to cocktails for the adults. There is something for everyone this week. Thursday, November 20 at 7 p.m. Malvern Books is pleased to be having a book discussion of James Joyce’s book, Finnegans Wake.There isno prior knowledge of the piece required. Just stop by and be prepared to meet new people, engage in discussion, and read from the book. Make sure to show up with an open mind and keep in mind that this is one of the most difficult reads in English. Published in 1939, right before Joyce’s death. Jack allen

Friday, November 21 at 7 p.m. Book People is excited to announce that Texas chef and author, Jack Gilmore will be at Book People signing and discussing his new book, Jack Allen’s Kitchen: Celebrating the Tastes of Texas. Along with a great book discussion, there will be food samples of recipes from the book and free cocktails and wine.

Saturday, November 22 at 11:30 a.m. Book People is having another one of their famous story times. This is not my Hat by Jon Klassen is a classic children’s book about a little fish who has found a hat and has to figure out who is belongs to, or does he? This is a good time to get the kids out and about for a story and fun.

Sunday,November 23 at 4 p.m. Book People is stoked to announce that they will be having two fabulous authors today speaking abut their books. The first of the two is the 2013 Gival Press Novel Award, Thomas McNelly. He will be talking about his novel Ghost Horse. The second featured author is, Doug Dorst, will be talking about his book S.  Both of these authors have wonderful books about friendship, mystery, and the power of art.

Monday, November 24 at 7 p.m. Book People is going to be having an event featuring Amanda Palmer. She will be speaking and signing her novel: The Art of Asking, Amand aPalmeror How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Let People Help. Amanda is a musician, author, and TED talker.

Tuesday, November 25 at 10:30 a.m. Story time once again over at Book People. It’s getting closer and closer to the end of the year and Book People is not waiting another day to celebrate the greatest memories of 2014. The theme for this story time is blast from the past. They will be reading some of the best of 2014.

Wednesday, November 26 at 10:30 a.m. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Book People is excited to get a head start on the Thanksgiving festivities. They are kicking off today’s story time with a fabulous book, Thanksgiving for Emily Ann by Teresa Johnston.

Thursday, November 27 Hey Hey Hey all of our favorite book stores are going to be closed for Thanksgiving, but that should not keep you from relaxing and picking up a good book. Happy Thanksgiving. Eat! Watch some football! Eat some more! and READ, READ, READ!
