Intern Positions at The Writing Barn
Have an interest in Arts Management or Social Media/Pr? Want to meet award-winning authors? Want to see your creative ideas come to fruition? We’d love to have you join our team at The Writing Barn, for a 3-6 month commitment (will adhere to college intern program needs).
Social Media Intern: 5-20 hours a week. Flexible schedule with telecommute options available. Assist in social media management for The Writing Barn, a thriving writing workshop and retreat center in S. Austin, Texas. Duties may include, depending on skill set and interest: managing social media outlets; discovering and providing useful publishing and craft content in a variety of social media outlets; creating and editing brief video interviews with guest speakers; blog series database management and outreach to guest contributors; photography; graphic design and event promotion.

Arts Programming Intern: 5-15 hours a week. Flexible schedule with telecommute options available. Assist in arts programming for a thriving writing (and other arts) workshop and retreat center in S. Austin Texas. Duties may include, depending on skill set and interest: assisting Programming Director in arts planning, outreach to various arts organizations (visual media, the music industry, publishing, and holistic/spiritual based businesses and organizations); direct contact with instructors; event database management; and behind the scenes prep and execution of one-day to one-week events.
